Upward Movement in REAP Counselling

Upward Movement in the Rajasthan Engineering Admission Process (REAP) is an opportunity for candidates to upgrade their allotted seat to a higher-priority choice. If you are not entirely satisfied with the college or branch allotted to you in the initial rounds, you can opt for this process.

By participating in upward movement, the system will check if any vacancies have arisen in the choices you ranked higher than your currently allotted seat. If a higher choice is available based on your merit, your seat will be automatically upgraded.

Before applying for upward movement, candidates must be aware of the following crucial guidelines:

Eligibility Criteria

• Reporting is Mandatory: Candidates MUST report to their initially allotted institute and complete the admission formalities (including fee payment and document verification) to be eligible for upward movement.
• No Fresh Choices: You cannot add new choices or reorder your existing choices during the upward movement phase. The evaluation is done strictly based on your originally submitted choice list.
• First Choice Allotment: Candidates who have already been allotted their very first choice are generally not eligible for upward movement, as there is no higher preference to upgrade to.

Key Rules

• Mandatory Acceptance: If a new seat is allotted to you during upward movement, your previously allotted seat is automatically canceled. You cannot claim your old seat back under any circumstances.
• Retaining Old Seat: If your seat is NOT upgraded during the upward movement process, your previously allotted seat remains secure and valid.
• Reporting Again: If upgraded, you must download the new allotment letter and report to the newly allotted institute within the specified timeframe.
