REAP Reservation Policy
Overview of Reservation Rules

The Rajasthan Engineering Admission Process (REAP) follows the reservation policy strictly laid out by the Government of Rajasthan. A specific percentage of seats in government, government-aided, and private un-aided engineering colleges are reserved for candidates belonging to various categories.

Note: Category-based reservations are primarily applicable to candidates holding a valid Rajasthan Domicile certificate. Out-of-state candidates are generally treated as Unreserved/General category unless specific central quotas apply.

Category-Wise Seat Quota

Below is the detailed percentage breakdown of seats reserved for different categories in REAP 2026:

Category Reservation Quota (%)
Scheduled Caste (SC) 16%
Scheduled Tribe (ST) 12%
Other Backward Classes (OBC - Non Creamy Layer) 21%
More Backward Classes (MBC - Non Creamy Layer) 5%
Economically Weaker Section (EWS) 10%

Horizontal Reservations

In addition to the vertical reservations mentioned above, REAP also applies horizontal reservations within these categories:

Special Quotas & Schemes

Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme (TFWS)

The TFWS is designed to assist economically backward students. Key highlights include:

  • Provides a waiver on tuition fees (other fees like hostel, university fees still apply).
  • 5% supernumerary seats are created over and above the sanctioned intake.
  • Parents' annual income must be less than INR 8 Lakhs from all sources.
  • A valid income certificate issued by a competent authority is mandatory.

Kashmiri Migrants (KM) Quota

One seat in each branch of all engineering institutions is reserved for candidates belonging to the Kashmiri Migrants category. Candidates must possess a valid certificate issued by the competent authority to claim this quota.

Ensure your category certificates (OBC-NCL, MBC-NCL, EWS) are recently issued and valid for the current financial year as per Rajasthan Government rules!
