Detailed FAQs on REAP TFWS

1. Can outside Rajasthan students apply for TFWS?

No, the Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme (TFWS) is strictly reserved for candidates who possess a valid Rajasthan Domicile.

2. What is the income limit to be eligible for TFWS?

The annual income of your parents from all sources must be less than Rs. 8 Lakhs per annum to be eligible for the TFWS quota.

3. Will my entire college fee be zero if I get a TFWS seat?

No. Only the "Tuition Fee" component of your college fees is waived. You will still have to pay development fees, caution money, university exam fees, and hostel/mess fees if you opt for them.

4. Can I change my category to TFWS during reporting if I forgot to select it in the application?

Generally, no. You must claim TFWS by selecting 'Yes' and uploading the valid income certificate during the initial REAP online registration phase. Changes are usually not permitted later.

5. Is the cutoff for TFWS seats higher or lower than normal seats?

The cutoff for TFWS seats is almost always significantly higher (requires a better rank/percentile) than normal seats for the same branch because these seats are highly sought after and limited to only 5% of the intake.

6. What happens if I fail in a semester? Will my TFWS status be revoked?

TFWS is granted for the entire duration of the course (4 years). However, students must adhere to the university's academic regulations. It is best to check the specific institute's policy, but typically the waiver continues as long as you remain enrolled in the program.

7. Are TFWS seats available in private engineering colleges too?

Yes, TFWS seats are available in all AICTE approved government and private engineering colleges participating in REAP counselling.
